11 December 2015 – BRegs Weekly – Edition 49

Week 49 edition of BRegs Weekly is out now.  The Housing Crisis featured prominently this week. It appears that Minister Kelly’s plans for prefab housing have hit more problems and an 18th December completion date is unlikely.  Despite rents increasing to almost pre-crisis levels there has been a 60% drop in planning applications for new housing. The blog posted a detailed at non-residential SME’s: Building Control Regulations introduced last March have almost doubled the regulatory cost burden on small commercial fit-outs.

The BRegs Weekly e-zine gathers all recent social media discussions relating to Building Control Regulations into one weekly digest. It is published every Friday and gives a round-up of news highlights for the week. Publication was delayed for this edition due to IT issues.

We recommend signing up for an automatic subscription to keep up with the discussion surrounding the current annual review of the BC(A)R, and more recent media articles and stories about building control and the impacts on the consumer and construction industry.
