22 January 2016 – BRegs Weekly – Edition 52
Welcome to the second edition of the Weekly BRegs Weekly for 2016: Week 52 edition of BRegs Weekly is out now.
This week saw Barry Cowan (FF) state that BCAR is a key factor behind new housing supply problems. The Blog issued a “Part V” alert this week- new social housing agreement procedures introduced last year are causing delays in the planning process for housing projects. Critical reaction continues of Minister Kelly’s reduced apartment standards aimed to kick-start housing supply announced last December. Property disposals by NAMA suggest that prefab temporary housing planned for Dublin (and under construction in Ballymun) is considerably more expensive than permanent homes for sale at present in similar locations.
The BRegs Weekly e-zine gathers all recent social media discussions relating to Building Control Regulations into one weekly digest. It is published every Friday and gives a round-up of news highlights for the week. Publication was delayed for this edition due to IT issues.
We recommend signing up for an automatic subscription to keep up with the discussion surrounding the current annual review of the BC(A)R, and more recent media articles and stories about building control and the impacts on the consumer and construction industry.
